Project Runway

Project Runway is a reality show which is aired in the United States via the Bravo network. It is a show which places an emphasis on fashion design. The participants who are mentored by Tim Gunn, must compete with each other to create the best fashion designs, and they are only given a set amount of time to complete these projects. Judges will be responsible for picking the best designs, and one contestant will be sent home on a weekly basis. The awards given to the winner have varied each season, but winners will generally be given the chance to start their own clothing lines or hair care products.

Heidi Klum is the primary host of Project Runway. She is also supported by a panel of judges which may include Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. The contestants will be given a fashion challenge, and they are given materials and resources for the task. They are also given a time limit, and a winner will be selected each week. While the prizes may vary slightly each season, a $100,000 cash prize is generally one of the primary awards, along with appearing in ELLE magazine.

Project Runway: Jesus is Out
Posted: 5 Feb 2010
It was only a matter of time on “Project Runway” before Jesus was out. I mean, I think he’s been in the bottom the entire season. This week’s challenge was to design a fashion week gala look for women with heart problems who would be attending the Red Dresses Awards. Because the [...]

Project Runway: Ping is Out
Posted: 29 Jan 2010
This week’s “Project Runway” challenge was for the designers to come up with a signature look like those of iconic designers featured in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But, the designers had to work in teams of two. They did have a $500 budget – the highest in “Project Runway” history. Tim [...]

Project Runway: Pamela is Out
Posted: 22 Jan 2010
The “Project Runway” challenge this week was to make a party look using a potato sack. The models were the clients and they got to choose their designer. Mila was highly offended when her model chose Anthony over her. Personally, I got tired of hearing her whine and moan about it. Jesus didn’t [...]

It was the season premiere of “Project Runway” and the gang is back where they belong – New York City! Actually, I didn’t mind LA that much, but I did miss Nina and Michael as judges. The new contestants were Seth Aaron (who looked like he just walked off a ’80s video set), Janeane, Ping [...]

Season Three of Project Runway

Heidi Klum appeared again as the judge in this season, which started in July of 2006. While the Banana Republic was the sponsor of the first two seasons, they were replaced by Macy's. The casting auditions took place in many Macy's stores around the United States. This season marked the first time that a contestant was asked to leave due to violating the rules. A reunion episode was also held in October, and Michael Knight was voted as the favorite designer, and he received $10,000 in cash. Jeffrey Sebelia was the winner of season 3, and he picked Marilinda Rivera as the model.

Season Two of Project Runway

The second season of the show aired in the winter of 2005. A search was held all over the United States earlier in the year, and a total of sixteen designers were chosen and brought to the city of New York. The first challenge was dubbed the Road To The Runway, and two contestants were eliminated, leaving only fourteen to continue as finalists. The winner of season two was Chloe Dao, and she was given $100,000 to start her own fashion line, as well as a 12 month contract with Designers Management Agency. In addition to this, she was also given a Saturn Sky Roadster, and her work was featured in ELLE magazine.

Season One of Project Runway

During this season, the show was given critical acclaim, and was nominated for an Emmy. Because of its large audience, it was considered to be a hit. The winner of season one was Jay McCarroll. He was given a cash prize of $100,000, and the Banana Republic would assist him in developing his own fashion line. However, it should be noted that McCarroll turned down this offer. He clothing was also showcased in ELLE magazine. The model that McCarroll chose from season one was Julia Beynon.
